Suzuki XL-7 Sales Continue to Climb
BREA, Calif., March 1 American Suzuki Motor Corporation's
monthly sales totaled 5,010 vehicles, down 1 percent from February 2000. In
its second full month of sales, the new Suzuki XL-7 posted 1,398 sales for
February. The Grand Vitara, with 1,685 sales for the month, slipped by
35 percent in comparison to sales for the same period last year. Esteem Wagon
and Sedan sales fell 18 percent for the month, notching 1,044 sales.
"Even in the slow industry months, XL-7 sales continue to climb," said
Gary Anderson, vice president of sales. "Our 'It Fits' advertising campaign,
targeted at women, illustrates the XL-7 as a unique, right-sized SUV and has
started to drive dealer traffic."
