Pioneer's ``Everything Else Comes 2econd'' 18-Wheeler Hits Spring Break

LONG BEACH, Calif.--March 15, 2001--Daytona Beach, the hot spot for spring break parties, will be the first stop for Pioneer's "Everything Else Comes 2econd" 18-wheeler mobile show room.
Dressed in its new 2001 graphics and filled with the company's newest audio and video products, the Pioneer 18-wheeler will be parked along the beach as part of the "Spring Break Tuner Bash," at the Plaza Hotel on Ocean Boulevard, Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24.
Inside the 18-wheeler, spring breakers can see the full line of 2001 car electronic products: audio/video, DVD players with DTS/Dolby Digital 5.1 channel decoding, in-car navigation, stereo headunits featuring bright, multi-colored Organic Electro-luminescence displays, subwoofers and amplifiers. Typical spring breakers are early adopters of new technology, making Daytona a perfect kickoff for Pioneer's 18-wheeler tour.
As visitors walk through the mobile showroom, there are multiple interactive stations that demonstrate car and home electronics. Visitors will see source units, speakers and subwoofers located on each side of the trailer. Consumers walk directly on top of amplifiers, inlaid in the floor under protective plexi-glass, allowing them not only to hear the music but to feel it as well. Pioneer staff will be available at each venue to answer questions.
Along with car electronic products, the trailer includes a fully equipped Pioneer home theater system complete with a High Definition plasma monitor, DTS/Dolby Digital 5.1 channel receiver and surround sound speakers.
"The Pioneer truck allows consumers to experience the newest car and home audio/visual entertainment products. Visitors will be able to see, touch, hear and play with any of the products on display," said Keith Burnett, senior marketing manager, car electronics division at Pioneer. "It's a great platform to really show off Pioneer's latest and most innovative products. Best of all, it's designed to be very interactive."
In addition, the Pioneer 18-wheeler hauls a 2002 Ford Explorer equipped with an audio/video/gaming system and Alex Zanardi's No. 66 Pioneer-Worldcom/Mo Nunn Racing open-wheel demonstration car. Both demonstration cars will be displayed at each event.
Following the Spring Break Bash, Pioneer's 18-wheeler will tour the country including six CART racing events; car audio sound competition finals including IASCA, USAC and dB Drag; NOPI Nationals; and other Pioneer promotional events across the country.
