Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center Maximizes Creativity

ROCKLEIGH, N.J., March 28 Marking another milestone in the
company's history of innovation, the Volvo Cars Monitoring and Concept Center
(VMCC) today announced it has made a strategic decision to deploy Centric
Innovation from Centric Software, the leading provider of Collaborative
Product Innovation (CPI) solutions for the globally distributed design chain.
VMCC is leveraging the solution to fuse creativity, project management and
efficiency as they collaborate with team members. Pulling disparate data into
the Centric Innovation unifying environment enables globally dispersed teams
to collaboratively define, synthesize and validate concepts.

VMCC, the Volvo think tank, tests many new techniques and tools such as
Centric Innovation, quickly assessing their value for the parent company,
which then implements successful processes across the organization when
viable. VMCC is therefore challenged to provide its team members with
flexible design tools that match their creativity and empower them to express
and share their concepts and ideas.

Unlike conventional design solutions -- including specialist point
products such as CAD/CAM, CAE, and visualization, or rigid control-oriented
management systems including PDM and ERP -- which stifle creativity, Centric
Innovation is the only environment and unites domain experts to freely share
know-how and explore innovative ideas. The ability to define, synthesize and
validate product possibilities all in one environment fuels the creative
process and enables VMCC to focus on its core competencies and outsource and
manage projects as needed to its global partners, working together toward the
final project.

"We are tremendously creative here at VMCC," said Lars Jansson, general
manager, Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center. "Centric Innovation enables us
to maximize our creativity as well as the expertise of our extended team and
existing resources, while minimizing costly delays".

"VMCC's decision to extend its relationship with Centric Software is
another example of its commitment to remain on the leading edge, exploring the
technological boundaries of best-in-class solutions such as Centric
Innovation," said Neil M. Mitchell, vice president of marketing and strategic
alliances for Centric Software, Inc. "We are confident they will continue to
realize its benefits as they create innovative products more quickly, and at
significantly reduced costs."
