Is GINGER The Impetus Behind the 80-MPG Supercar Program Cancellation?

Do one and one make two? Is it Hydrogen? Electric? Is it a Government Comprised of Texas Oil Millionaires? Or Just IT?

In this time of rapidly rising gasoline prices, why is it that the Department of Energy cancelled the 2004 deadline for producing a prototype 80-MPG supercar, and claimed to be switching its focus to longer-term technologies that could be used in all kinds of vehicles. No administration official would say which technologies would be emphasized.

The Detroit Free Press quoted Bob Culver, a Ford Motor Co. executive who is the executive director the U.S. Council for Automotive Research, the automaker consortium that oversees the program that, Energy Department officials and automaker executives will meet in Washington next week to go over the details of the changes in the supercar development program. And that Energy Department officials also intend to kill or delay work on shorter-term research, including efforts to reduce vehicle weight, .

In our opinion: This move only makes sense if GINGER is a new gosoline free power source!
