Gone: Black Diesel Smoke!; AquaLux Corp. Announces Tests Show AquaFuel Reduces Diesel Hydrocarbon Emissions to Zero

CLEARWATER, Fla.--May 30, 2001--AquaLux Corporation, makers of AquaFuel(R), announced today that tests show AquaFuel reduces diesel hydrocarbon emissions to zero.
"If you are like me, you hate to see diesel engines giving out large clouds of black smoke," said AquaLux President John Lux. "Now you can get relief; we can eliminate those hydrocarbon pollutants with AquaFuel(R). From now on, when you see the problem of diesel smoke, you will find yourself thinking of the solution: AquaFuel." AquaFuel is the revolutionary alternative fuel made from inexpensive carbon and water. AquaFuel has been described as "tamed hydrogen."
Diesel engines are used in millions of trucks and cars. Diesel engines are also used to generate electrical power. Diesel emission regulations are being tightened to allow less pollution. "The more you look at the need to get rid of diesel pollutants, and the more you consider the size of the diesel market, the more you can see that this is going to be a blockbuster market for us," said Lux. "AquaFuel can give diesel engines new life in the face of tighter emission standards." The EPA has adopted rules requiring diesel engine makers to reduce diesel emissions by the year 2007.
AquaLux tested diesel hydrocarbon emissions using a 1975 diesel truck. Before using AquaFuel as an additive to the diesel fuel, the engine produced over 220 ppm of hydrocarbons. With AquaFuel, the hydrocarbon emissions were reduced to nearly zero.
Diesel hydrocarbon emissions are basically unburned fuel. AquaFuel reduces diesel hydrocarbon emissions because AquaFuel tends to complete the combustion process and burn up the unburned hydrocarbons.
AquaLux will continue testing adding AquaFuel to diesel. AquaLux aims to show that AquaFuel can increase mileage and power and decrease other emissions and engine wear as well as reduce hydrocarbon emissions.
AquaLux is already in discussions with a local power company to provide AquaFuel to eliminate diesel emissions and bring them into compliance with air pollution regulations on their 25 diesels used for electrical power generation.
"We expect this to be an enormous market, an enormous boon to diesel engine users, and an enormous benefit to clean air," said Lux.
An older, dirtier diesel engine can produce eight tons of emissions per year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has determined that diesel exhaust is likely to cause cancer in humans.
AquaLux equipment produces AquaFuel. Unlike the diesel fuel, natural gas or coal, which would be used otherwise, AquaFuel has virtually no harmful emissions. AquaLux's mission is "Clean Air -- Clean Water and Unlimited Energy." AquaLux is located in Clearwater, Florida. For more information, call (727) 220-9000 or go to www.aqualux.net.
