New HUMMER Dealer Appointed In Charlotte - Independence HUMMER

Charlotte, N.C. - The world's premiere off-road vehicle, the HUMMER H1, is now on sale and available at the newly appointed Independence HUMMER in Charlotte, North Carolina.

General Motors and AM General awarded a new HUMMER franchise to Bill Ingram to create Independence HUMMER in June 2001.

"We are really excited to become a HUMMER Dealership, particularly with the upcoming launch of the exciting new H2 SUV." Said Bill Ingram, owner of Independence HUMMER.

Based on the military HUMVEE, the civilian HUMMER H1 has three distinct bodystyles, the 4-Door Wagon, the 4-Door Hard Top and 4-Door Soft Top. Mid-year 2002, HUMMER will also launch the first sibling to the HUMMER H1, the all-new H2 SUV.

General Motors and AM General reached an agreement in December 1999 in which GM acquired exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide.
