Precision Tune Auto Care & Decorating Den Interiors Partner With Kinzan

    CARLSBAD, Calif.--July 3, 2001--

Nationwide Locations Expand Their Reach With Individual Sites Tailored
    To Local Markets

Kinzan, a leading provider of distribution chain applications, today announced that the company has implemented its CORE3 systems for Precision Tune Auto Care and Decorating Den Interiors -- both large franchise organizations that do business through a network of locations worldwide.
Decorating Den Interiors, based in Maryland, is the largest international shop-at-home interior decorating service. Virginia-based Precision Tune Auto Care, with 550+ worldwide locations, provides automotive systems repair, maintenance and diagnostic services for car owners.
Both Precision Tune Auto Care and Decorating Den Interiors use Kinzan's CORE3 applications that enable their many locations to manage their businesses online. CORE3 helps companies with widespread locations control corporate and product information while providing flexibility for each location to tailor its site to local market needs -- all without IT assistance. Both companies are employing this technology to increase sales and customer satisfaction both on and offline.
"These successful franchise organizations and our other customers in manufacturing and direct selling industries, have realized that it is critical to include their distributors in their Web strategies," said Gari Cheever, president and CEO of Kinzan. "Our applications help these widespread organizations drive business to the local level, where buyers become loyal customers."
Precision Tune Auto Care is offering a one page Web site for each of their stores along with an upgrade option for as many as 30 pages. The sites contain branded company information, services, specialty articles and customer coupons while each location has the flexibility to add their address, staff, and other location-specific information. There is also an ability to promote job openings on their sites.
"We are excited to offer our service locations the ability to market themselves online," said Kevin Bates, vice president, marketing for Precision Tune Auto Care. "Kinzan equips our franchises with another touch point for customers to do business with us which adds tremendous value to our bottom line."
Customers logging onto www.precisiontune.com are able to locate a franchise by zip code. Search results will link the customer to the location's site nearest them.
Decorating Den Interiors wanted a similar Web presence for their 500+ independent franchises and decorators.
"We are committed to promoting and enhancing the businesses of our franchise partners through technology. In the 'beautiful business' of interior decorating, providing an owner the ability to convey graphically his or her unique work is a powerful marketing tool," said Jim Bugg Jr., president and CEO of Decorating Den Interiors. "Our applications needed to be both flexible and easy to use. With Kinzan, our owners can create, personalize and update their Web sites by themselves, while maintaining the control and consistency that is necessary for a franchise organization."
Each Franchise has a five-page site featuring their contact information, product & services, and current events. To assist each location in customizing the sites, Decorating Den Interiors provides an online rich image library. In addition, the 30+ regional offices can add a business opportunities page to recruit future franchise owners. Customers can find a designer through the main Decorating Den Interiors Web site (www.decoratingden.com) under the heading "find your own personal decorator." This link will take them to the site of the designer in their area.
