Audi Summer Sales Start off Strong With Best Sales Month in Company History

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 3 Audi of America's sales in
June were 9,317 for the month, the best sales month in company history and a
35.0 percent gain over June 2000.  Audi year-to-date sales increased to best-
ever status with 43,300, up 7.3 percent from 40,372 vehicles sold during the
first half of last year.
    Major sales growth was seen from the A6 range with 4,066 sales.  The Audi
A4, in its last model year before the introduction of the redesigned version
this fall, recorded strong sales of 3,274 units for the month, up 15.0
percent.
    Audi's crossover vehicle, the allroad quattro, reported 573 for the month.
The TT posted sales of 1,222, slightly down 3.9 percent over June 2000.
    Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 182, up 15.2
percent from last June.
