PT Cruiser and Prowler Owners Unite to Kick Off Woodward Dream Cruise

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 15 It's going to be quite a
sight Friday night when approximately 500 Chrysler PT Cruiser and Prowler
owners kick off the Woodward Dream Cruise in style and parade their prized
wheels down Detroit's famous cruising strip, Woodward Avenue.

Chrysler PT Cruiser and Prowler owners, friends and families will depart
from DaimlerChrysler headquarters in Auburn Hills at 6 p.m. and make their way
to Woodward Avenue to kick off the Woodward Dream Cruise, the world's largest
one-day show celebrating the cars that made Detroit and the cruising era so
special. The parade of cars will then return to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum
for the 2001 Black Tee Charity Pre-Cruise party that benefits the Children's
Miracle Network.

"We're providing a great opportunity for our Chrysler PT and Prowler
owners to meet and swap stories with each other," said Tom Marinelli, Vice
President Chrysler/Jeep(R) Global Brand Center. "Simply put, these owners are
passionate about cars and so are we. The Woodward Dream Cruise provides the
perfect backdrop for our parade and celebration."

The "too cool to categorize" Chrysler PT Cruiser represents the new icon
for the Chrysler brand. Introduced for the 2001 model year, PT Cruiser still
has no direct competition in North America. To help meet increasing demand,
Chrysler recently announced its second production increase for PT Cruiser. By
the fall of 2002, Chrysler will build PT Cruisers at the rate of 310,000
vehicles per year, up from the current capacity of 180,000 vehicles per year.
The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for a 2001 PT Cruiser starts
at $16,765 (which includes $565 for destination).

Prowler is the modern, high technology tribute to the American hot rod.
First introduced as a concept car in 1993, Prowler turned into yet another
concept-to-reality success story for Chrysler when production started five
years ago in July of 1997. Just last month, Chrysler celebrated the build of
its 10,000th Prowler at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. The MSRP
for a 2001 Chrysler Prowler is $45,400 (which includes $775 for destination).
A matching Prowler trailer is $5,075 MSRP.

"The Chrysler PT Cruiser and Chrysler Prowler are rolling statements about
our brand and our company," said Marinelli. "Who else would dare to put cars
like these on the road? At Chrysler, I can assure you that we will continue
to introduce head-turning cars that evoke a strong, passionate emotional
response. In addition to Prowler and PT Cruiser, there's more to come."

For the second year in a row, the Black Tee Charity Pre-Cruise Party will
benefit the Children's Miracle Network in support of Beaumont Pediatrics.
Last year's event generated more than $25,000 for the organization.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is the Motor City's mid-summer classic car event
held annually on the third Saturday of August. The event draws more than 1.5
million visitors and over 30,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector
and special interest vehicles.
