Les Schwab Tire Centers Earns Top Award

      Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Second Consecutive Year

    PRINEVILLE, Ore., Aug. 17 Les Schwab Tire Centers
announced today that it has been ranked the best passenger-vehicle and light
truck tire retailer in customer satisfaction for the second year in a row,
according to a recent J.D. Power and Associates Report.

    In the 2001 J.D. Powers study, Les Schwab scored strongly in the five
areas that make up the Retailer Satisfaction Index (RSI):  people, service,
facility, reputation, and product selection.

    "Les Schwab continues to delight its customers and they are rewarded with
the highest customer loyalty," said Jeff Zupanic, director of the tire
practice at J.D. Powers and Associates.  "Les Schwab's ability to consistently
deliver on the personnel and service factors, the largest contributing
customer-driven factors to retailer satisfaction, fuels their leading
performance and their ability to retain customers."
