Syncata and Asera Unveil Build-to-Order Info Technology Offerings

DETROIT--Aug. 28, 2001--Business consulting and systems integration firm Syncata Corporation and Asera Inc., provider of the leading Asera eBusiness Operating System, have allied to introduce two new build-to-order supply chain capability offerings to automakers and their suppliers at the Automotive Industry Action Group's AUTO-TECH 2001 Conference & Exhibition at Detroit's Cobo Center on Aug. 28 & 29, 2001.
AUTO-TECH is a multi-technology conference focused on supply chain processes between automotive parts suppliers and their customers.
Syncata supply chain practice area leader Rakesh Batra, a former Andersen consultant with more than 20 years experience in strategic procurement, manufacturing-planning and supplier integration, will present the firm's two build-to-order (BTO) offerings in Syncata's hospitality suite, opposite the show floor in room No. 02-14. The offerings adapt Asera's award-winning software to the industry specific needs of the automotive trade.
"To help automotive OEMs and their suppliers move closer to build-to-order, Syncata has created two new supply chain capability offerings using Syncata's domain expertise and Asera's software that for the first time allows clients to mitigate risk and measure results through a phased approach, one step at a time. We're offering automotive OEMs and suppliers a solution for migrating toward BTO in phases," said Batra. "AUTO-TECH attendees will have a chance to see how Syncata and Asera can help them build-to-order, block-by-block."

Under the terms of the alliance, Syncata advances from Asera Affiliate Partner Program to become an official Asera reseller. Syncata has more than two years of experience deploying Asera's applications and played a key role in validating the software's parametric search capabilities. Syncata was the first integrator to implement Asera's globalization and language features, and is among the first integrators to successfully integrate Asera with Siebel, Oracle and Baan.
Syncata has extensive industry experience within the automotive trade. The firm recently completed American Honda's Market-Oriented Vehicle Environment (MOVE), a network-based collaborative solution which helps the automotive manufacturer balance dealer vehicle requests against factory supply, dropping the automaker's channel inventory to just 38 days, according to "Automotive News," a weekly trade magazine that charts weekly Domestic and Imported Car and Light-Truck Inventories. The findings put American Honda in the industry's top two percent.
