Murata Introduces Smallest High Frequency Inductors

    SMYRNA, Ga.--Sept. 10, 2001--

Advancements in Technology Produce Low Profile, Lead Free Surface Mount Inductor Series (LQP03T) with High Q Value

Murata Electronics North America (www.murata.com), a world-leading innovator in electronics, today announced the introduction of their 0201-sized (0.6mm x 0.3mm) high frequency inductor series (LQP03T) - the smallest of its kind in the world.
With advanced film technology, Murata's new surface mount inductors are designed with a low profile (0.3mm), a high Q value in high frequency bands and are manufactured with lead-free materials. The miniaturized LQP03T series is ideal for wireless products and telecommunications equipment.
The LQP03T series inductors utilize Murata's unique Film Technology, which succeeds in the production of a low loss internal electrode to achieve outstanding Q characteristics and high rated current. The electrical performance of the LQP03T series is comparable to a larger 0402 size inductor in a smaller 0201 package size.
These features make the LQP03T series ideal for various RF applications that require resonant circuits, impedance matching circuits and RF choke circuits.
"By offering 0201 surface mount inductors, with the same characteristics as the larger 0402 sized inductors, Murata enables design engineers to achieve higher density mounting while conserving valuable board space," said Deryl Kimbro, Product Manager for Murata Electronics North America. "Without this flexibility they could not meet the demands of consumers who crave less expensive, smaller, lighter and more mobile products."
Murata's sample price for an inductor in the LQP03T series is ten cents.
