United Auto Workers and Ford Contribute to Relief Effort

    DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 14 The UAW-Ford National Programs
Center will donate $1 million to the Salvation Army to assist in emergency
relief efforts.  The donation is supported by UAW-represented employees at
Visteon Corp., ZF Batavia and Rouge Steel.

    Additionally, UAW-Ford Family Service and Learning Center family councils,
working through UAW regions, will coordinate future community blood drive and
fund raising efforts with local chapters of the American Red Cross and
Salvation Army.

    Ford Motor Company will match all employee contributions made to the
American Red Cross.
