Enterprise Rent-A-Car Donates $1 Million To Relief Efforts In NY And DC

    ST. LOUIS, Mo.--Sept. 21, 2001- Enterprise Rent-A-Car announced that on behalf of its 50,000 employees worldwide, the company will donate $1 million to the disaster relief efforts in New York and Washington, D.C.
    The donation will be made by the company's charitable arm, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation. In keeping with Enterprise's commitment to providing local employees with the authority to make decisions and build relationships in their communities, the Foundation worked with Enterprise's managers in New York and Washington, D.C. to determine how the funds would be distributed to local charities. In New York, donations are being given to the following organizations:

-- United Way September 11th Victims Relief Fund
-- The American Red Cross
-- Lower East Side Volunteers of Hatzalah, a local volunteer ambulance agency
-- NYC Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Widows Fund
-- Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows and Children's Fund
-- A newly established fund to benefit employees and families of the New York and New Jersey Port Authority
