Pontiac Montana Partners with The Coleman Company to Celebrate Fun and Family Adventure

DETROIT – Pontiac Montana, the most rugged and versatile minivan, and the Coleman Company, known the world over as a market pioneer and innovator in outdoor products, have joined forces to celebrate fun and family adventure. Pontiac Montana with its rugged styling, cargo capacity, seating space and all new Versatrak All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), together with Coleman provide durable, family-oriented products for every outdoor adventure from a weekend family camping trip to a tee-ball game or a backyard BBQ!

From August to December 2001, a 2002 Montana with Versatrak AWD will be integrated into the Coleman “Out There” mobile marketing tour at NASCAR races, Country Music Festivals and family fairs and festivals. Consumers who visit the Montana-Coleman displays can win prizes by exploring the Montana AWD vehicle for answers to the Montana Coleman “Family Challenge” product feature questionnaires. The partnership kicked off last month with a combined display at the Meijer Pepsi 400 NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich. A schedule of events is attached.

The “Out There Together” Partnership with Coleman offers Montana additional access to active families. This partnership reinforces Montana’s strong positioning by providing consumers rugged, durable, products that enable families to confidently head out on their family adventures to the great outdoors and encourages outdoor family recreation. For Coleman, The “Out There Together” Partnership provides a transportation partner that reinforces the idea of families going places together for fun and adventure. Montana provides active families a safe, versatile means to pack their gear and get outdoors.

Consumer Benefits: The “Out There Together” Partnership provides consumers with rugged, adventurous and durable products that enable them to get outdoors and participate in family recreation activities.

Montana Versatrak AWD – Montana distances itself further from the competition this fall with the addition of Versatrak all-wheel drive. Versatrak comes with a fully independent rear suspension, four wheel disc brakes and 16-inch wheels and tires. Its full time, on-demand capabilities, fuel economy and seating flexibility, coupled with the unique ability to transfer power from front to back and side to side, makes it unlike any non-GM minivan in the industry.

DVD Entertainment System – For 2002, GM’s minivan customers will be able to select models equipped with the segment’s first factory-installed DVD players. The MontanaVision DVD player uses the same type of convenient flip-down screen as with previous-generation GM entertainment systems, but now provides superior digital sound and picture quality. Plus, the screen has been re-configured to allow passengers to watch wide screen, letter-boxed DVDs. It can play DVD audio discs as well as CDs. The system includes a DVD audio and CD player, auxiliary jacks for video games or camcorder, four wireless dual-channel headsets, and an infrared remote that controls all DVD functions. The MontanaVision system is available on the extended-length Montana and the Montana with the Versatrak all-wheel-drive system.
