ENRG Is New Name for PFC/eFuels

SEAL BEACH, Calif.--Oct. 1, 2001--Emerging as North America's leader in clean transportation, ENRG is the new name for PFC/eFuels. The company provides vehicular natural gas -- both compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) -- and related services in key markets. Its customers include more than 18,000 private and public fleet vehicles fueling at 80 locations in California, Arizona, Vancouver and Toronto.
ENRG designs, builds and operates natural gas fueling stations as part of a comprehensive program to provide a clean fuel solution for vehicle owners. Customers range from Los Angeles International Airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to SuperShuttle, Sunline Transit and Waste Management.
"Our new name signifies our commitment to being the strongest provider of natural gas for clean transportation in this growing fuel marketplace," said Andrew J. Littlefair, president and CEO of ENRG. "Natural gas as a vehicle fuel has been proven safe, economical and far less toxic than diesel fuel. Increasingly, fleet owners are turning to natural gas in response to governmental clean-air mandates as well as to their environmental concerns.
"The potential for increased demand for vehicular natural gas is heightened due to its ready availability from domestic sources," noted Mr. Littlefair, "providing a secure supply and lessening the need for imported oil products for fleet fueling."
ENRG's services include: turnkey construction of natural gas fueling stations; public and private access fueling stations; locally based maintenance staffs; long- and short-term fuel pricing strategies; grant services to assist with preparation and administration of grants and incentive programs; and consultation and assistance with public policy development.
ENRG was formed in June 2001 by the combination of certain assets and interests of Pickens Fuel Corp., a private company owned by Boone Pickens; BCG eFuels, Inc. (owned by BC Gas Inc., TSE: BCG); and Westport Innovations Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia . The company is the largest provider of vehicular natural gas and related services in North America. It has a broad customer base that includes refuse, transit, shuttle, taxi, police, intrastate and interstate trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets. The company also has an agreement with Ford Motor Company to help market alternative fuel vehicles.
