Rent-A-Wreck Announces Multi-Platform Advertising and Marketing Initiative with SMI

    Posting more than $1 Million in cash and prizes, legendary racing promoters Humpy Wheeler and Bruton Smith have joined forces with Rent-A-Wreck to offer one lucky race fan the opportunity to join them on the road in 2002 at all six Speedway Motorsports tracks.
    Rent-A-Wreck of America, Inc., and Speedway Motorsports, Inc. are co-promoting the "SMI Million Dollar Speedway Tour Sweepstakes". Lucky Fans will have a chance to win over $1 Million Dollars in prizes, including a $35, 000 Grand Prize.
    The Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two to the following race weekends: Las Vegas Motor Speedway, March 1-3; Texas Motor Speedway, April 5-7; Lowes Motor Speedway, May 23-26; Sears Point Raceway, June 21-23; Bristol Motor Speedway, August 23-24; and Atlanta Motor Speedway, October 25-27.
    The lucky fan will get his or her picture taken with in victory lane with winners from each race. The Grand Prize winner will also receive tickets to all race event, VIP pit and garage passes, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, car rental and $2,000 in spending money.
    There are also 1,500 first-place prizes, which feature a three-day Caribbean Cruise package and 2,002 second-place vacation trips to Florida.

    Sweepstakes entry forms are available at the more than 450 participating Rent-A-Wreck locations nationwide, and at SMI's six Speedway facilities. The winner will be selected in a random drawing during the annual Media Tour, hosted by Lowe's Motor Speedway in January.
    In addition to their sponsorship of the Million Dollar Speedway Tour, Rent-A-Wreck is reaching out to the NASCAR demographic with their own Busch Grand National car, the No. 49 owned by Jay Robinson racing.
    Rent-A-Wreck is also bolstering their presence on the radios of race fans by stepping their advertising commitment with Performance Racing Network, the radio broadcasters of both Winston Cup and Busch racing.
