Fleetwood RV Donates the Use of a Motor Home for San Francisco Police Officer's Touching Journey to Ground Zero

RIVERSIDE, Calif., Nov. 16 -- Fleetwood RV, the nation's leading recreational vehicle manufacturer, has donated the use of a Discovery motor home to San Francisco Police Officer Tom Price for his patriotic journey to ground zero in New York. Officer Price first made headlines when he painted his 1990 Suburban like an American flag when he couldn't find a store with flags in stock. He has now decided to take his patriotism a step further and tow the red, white and blue Suburban to ground zero with a Fleetwood motor home.

Fleetwood RV donated the use of a 2001 Discovery motor home for Price's journey to ground zero. Tom will be accompanied by his superior officer, Sergeant Eric Cranston, his wife Kris and Kris's twin sister Shelley. The RV adventure will begin on Saturday, November 17, at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Northern California. The RV will be loaded up with letters and gifts for the families of the victims that the group will pick up at local fire stations along the way. They plan to arrive at the New York City Fire Station on Thanksgiving Day to deliver the well wishes. ``This tragedy really hit home for my family even though it happened 3,000 miles away,'' Price said. His wife Kris added, ``We hope this trip will help everyone put their grief and fears behind them.''

The Discovery and its patriotic rig will be a moving tribute that will hopefully contribute unity to a grieving nation. ``Fleetwood RV is honored to have the opportunity to help Tom and his friends bring some joy to the lives of the victims' families during the holidays,'' said Fleetwood spokeswoman Amy Harrison. She added, ``More than two million vacations are taken each year in Fleetwood RVs, but this is a trip that will hold a very special meaning to all of the lives they touch along the way.''
