New Web-Based Database Collision Reference Manual

SAN RAMON, Calif.--Jan. 15, 2002--To better serve the collision repair and insurance industries, ADP Claims Services Group announced it will supply free online downloads of its ADP Database Reference Manual. Now, in a matter of minutes, anyone can easily find detailed information about how to operate ADP's industry-leading database by accessing www.ADPClaims.com/DatabaseManual.html.
"We're very pleased to announce this service," said Rick Tuuri, senior director of industry relations for ADP's automotive claims services. "It's important to us that all shops and insurers can quickly and easily access the information related to ADP estimates. This is good for ADP clients and their trading partners. Now even non-clients can access this information easily and quickly online. ADP is committed to making this information available to everyone so they can fully understand the content of an ADP estimate."
Tate Linden, product manager for the ADP Database, said, "This new option enables a wider variety of people to quickly find answers that might otherwise require one or more phone calls."
The ADP Database contains parts, labor, pricing and images for production vehicles sold in the United States and Canada since the early 1970s. It has long been known as the only automated, vehicle-specific and option-driven database in the U.S., and has achieved historical accuracy rates of 99.98 percent.
"Our database is very intuitive, as users only see the parts that are available for the specific model, year and options selected for each vehicle," said Linden. "Just enter some basic information and the database shows you which parts are available for inclusion on the estimate. Ultimately this leads to faster and more accurate estimates, since we have removed any parts or options that aren't available for the vehicle you're working with."
According to Linden, the ADP Database contains more than 1,200 files for vehicles produced by nearly 50 different manufacturers. There are approximately 9,000 unique parts in the database and more than 1.4 million unique part types with accompanying prices. There are also 550,000 graphical illustrations to help vehicle estimators better understand the extent of the necessary repairs.
For those without web access, ADP's database manual is also available on disk and in hard-copy.
