A New Car Dealer Raises Some Interesting Questions.

Why do manufacturers have their own consumer web sites?

When a consumer wants a new car brochure, isn’t it is in everyone’s interest that they visit a local dealer to pick one up?

The consumer cannot buy a car from the manufacturer, so why aren’t the car makers just providing their dealers with the data to put on our dealers website?

As a dealer I don’t want my prospects going around me to get their information, they just may get ensnared by a third party entity or a dealer across town.

I paid big bucks to build my dealership and I invest considerable budgets on local advertising to draw traffic, shouldn’t my web site get the same consideration ?

Why don’t the car makers just do what they have always done…advertise their products and leave the selling to the dealer…those who do it right will do the business those that don’t, won’t.
