GM Motor Club Teams With Upromise To Help Families Save For College

Southfield, Mich. - GM Motor Club, a provider of nationwide roadside service and travel benefits for the entire family, today announced that it has joined the Upromise college saving network. Families can now save for college when they purchase or renew a GM Motor Club membership.

"GM Motor Club is proud to become a member of the Upromise network and pleased to be able to add this savings opportunity to its list of member benefits," said John P. Boris, director and vice president of GM Motor Club. "Our organization is committed to providing value-added membership benefits to the entire family, and our relationship with Upromise is another great example of that commitment."

Now, when Upromise members use a credit card that has been registered on the Upromise website to purchase or renew a GM Motor Club membership, GM Motor Club will automatically contribute $5 to the members' secure Upromise college savings account. These contributions support both companies' mission to deliver peace-of-mind to their valued member families.

Upromise enables members nationwide to earn college savings through everyday purchases from contributing companies, including AT&T, ExxonMobil, Citibank, General Motors-and now-GM Motor Club. Families can increase Upromise college contributions by building their own savings network of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends, all directing contributions to a child they care about. The Upromise service also makes it easy for families to invest their savings in tax-advantaged 529 college savings accounts managed by Salomon Smith Barney or Fidelity Investments. Enrollment in Upromise is free and takes just minutes.

"We're very excited to have GM Motor Club join our team," said George Bell, Upromise CEO. "Now parents, grandparents and family friends can give the gift of college while enjoying the security that comes with a GM Motor Club membership."
