General Motors Announces 2003 Full-Size Van Prices
DETROIT - General Motors announced pricing for the all-new 2003 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana will start at $22,550 for the base two-wheel-drive ½ ton cargo model. The destination charge is $715.00.
"We were able to essentially hold the line on pricing on many of our models, yet introduce an all-new van that delivers many segment leading features and performance that's strong, smart and surprising," said Dave Kanous, marketing director for Express and Savana. "The 2003 Express and Savana feature bold truck-like styling and best-in-class brake and engine performance will exceed the expectations of even the most demanding customers."
The 2003 ¾ ton cargo models, equipped with the standard Vortec 4300 V6 engine, are priced the same as the current 2002 model. Yet, customers benefit with a uniquely styled and higher performing vehicle.
The all-new Express and Savana are equipped with 16" wheels, independent front suspension and four wheel disc brakes standard through the entire model line-up. "We've made significant upgrades to the brake systems and substantially improved brake pad life for these new vans" said Kanous. The vans boast the segment-leading Vortec Gen III family of engines, including the Vortec 6000 V8 that produces up to 300-hp and 360 lb-ft of torque - the most powerful V8 in its class.
"The 2003 Express and Savana offer an array of smart features including oil life and air filter monitors, battery run-down and lock-out protection, standard anti-lock brakes, and a tow/haul switch," said Kanous. "Customers will truly be surprised at the equipment the base pricing includes."
The 2003 Express and Savana also boast many surprising industry first features such as available all wheel drive, and left hand 60/40 swing-out doors, and side access panels on cargo models, providing unparalleled accessibility to the interior of the van.
Production of the 2003 Express and Savana will begin in July.
