Suzuki Posts Sales Gain in May

BREA, Calif., June 3 -- Suzuki's flagship, the XL-7 SUV, continued its sales increase in May 2002, posting a 14-percent increase over May 2001 sales. The XL-7 logged 3,349 sales, boosting the Suzuki product line to 6,689 sales for the month -- representing an 11.6-percent increase over April 2002.

Sales of Suzuki's new Aerio and Aerio SX rose to 966 for the month, boosting total model sales to 2,358 vehicles since its late March 2002 debut.

"Our flagship XL-7 and Aerio models continue to boost overall Suzuki product line sales, " said Gary Anderson, vice president of sales. "The new Aerio has taken its place alongside the XL-7 as one of Suzuki's fastest-growing models."

The Automotive Division of American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC), Brea, Calif., was founded in 1985 by Suzuki Motor Corporation. ASMC markets automobiles in the United States through a network of more than 430 automotive dealerships in 49 states.
