Subaru Introduces All New Forester Available July 20 At GM AutoWorld

Jakarta, Indonesia - Fuji Heavy Industries and PT General Motors Indonesia (GM Indonesia) today introduced the all new Subaru Forester.

Available beginning July 20 at select GM AutoWorld retailers, the new Forester is the latest version of the super sport-utility vehicle from Subaru. It combines active driving and active safety through Subaru's innovative all-wheel drive system and horizontally opposed engine.

The new Forester's all-wheel drive system provides totally balanced performance. It allows people and cargo to be carried safely, quickly and comfortably under any road and climate conditions.

A 2.5-liter, four-cylinder horizontally opposed engine offers several advantages. In conjunction with the all-wheel drive systems, it provides enhanced mechanical efficiency, increased reliability, better fuel economy and improved vehicle dynamics. The engine comes with a choice of a five-speed automatic or manual transmission.

In addition, the new Forester's strong and sophisticated interior and exterior have been updated to provide the best of both worlds. The new Forester is equally suitable as a formal family car or as a casual off-road vehicle.

"GM Indonesia is proud to be deepening its ties with Fuji Heavy Industries and its Subaru brand with the launch of the new Forester," said Kris Mayer, GM Indonesia's Director of Sales and Marketing. "We expect demand for high-quality sport-utility vehicles like the Forester to continue growing in Indonesia. Once customers get behind the wheel, they will understand why the new Forester is truly a super sport-utility vehicle."

"With its Subaru heritage, the new Forester delivers the ultimate balance of power, handling and inherent safety," said Eiichi Matsumoto, General Manager for Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing, Subaru Sales and Marketing Division. "We believe it will be a very attractive choice for car buyers across the country."

The retail price of the new Subaru Forester starts at Rp 263,350,000 off the road. Subaru buyers will enjoy a two-year unlimited kilometers parts warranty and two-year/30,000 kilometer free service.

The new Forester will join other Subaru, Chevrolet and Opel products sold by GM AutoWorld at the Jakarta Motor Show, which runs from July 20-26 at the Jakarta Hilton Convention Center (JHCC).
