Subaru Announces Pricing on 2003MY Legacy, Outback And Impreza Models
CHERRY HILL, N.J., July 18 -- Subaru of America, Inc., a pioneer of all-wheel drive vehicles designed for the active lifestyle, announced today the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for 2003 model year Legacy, Outback and Impreza models. The big news for 2003 includes the addition of a new Legacy L Special Edition Package and a price reduction on the popular Outback wagon model.
Legacy L with Special Edition Package
Available on sedan and wagon models, the Special Edition Package includes 16-inch alloy wheels, power moonroof (dual power moonroofs on wagons), projector beam halogen fog lights, leather wrapped steering wheel designed by MOMO, leather wrapped shifter handle, in-glass antenna and woodgrain patterned interior trim. The Legacy L with Special Edition Package has a suggested value of $2,000 - $2,400. However, Subaru has held the pricing of this equipment package to just $500 on sedan models, $900 on wagon models -- representing a $1,500 package discount. The MSRP for Legacy L with Special Edition Package Sedan is $19,995. The MSRP for Legacy L with Special Edition Package Wagon is $21,095. The optional 4-speed electronic automatic transmission is $800.
Additionally for 2003, all Legacy L models come equipped with an AM/FM stereo with single disc CD player, body color exterior trim and remote keyless entry.
Outback
Despite the addition of more standard equipment, Outback pricing has been reduced by $350. All 2003 Outback models benefit from expanded equipment including standard AM/FM/weather band stereo with single disc CD player. The popular All-Weather Package is now standard on all Outback models and includes heated exterior mirrors, dual mode heated front seats and windshield wiper de- icer. Outback models are now available in Silver Stone Metallic/Titanium Pearl (two-tone).
Legacy 2.5 GT
Legacy GT and Legacy GT Limited trim levels have been consolidated for the 2003 model year to create the 2.5 GT sedan and wagon. New features include a SPORTSHIFT shifter option on automatic transmission models and the addition of Variable Torque Distribution (VTD) All-Wheel Drive. Under normal driving conditions, VTD sends more power to the rear wheels to provide a more sporting driving feel. All 2.5 GT models benefit from an enhanced sound system, an 8-way power driver's seat, leather wrapped steering wheel designed by MOMO, leather wrapped shifter handle, projector beam halogen fog lights and a new alloy wheel design. The MSRP for Legacy 2.5 GT Sedan with standard 5-speed manual transmission is $24,795, $25,695 for wagon models. The optional 4-speed electronic automatic transmission with VTD adds an additional $1,000.
Outback Limited
Outback Limited Sedan and Wagon models receive a standard AM/FM/Weatherband stereo with in-dash 6-disc CD changer and rear sub-woofer for the 2003 model year. MSRP for Outback Limited Sedan with the standard four-speed automatic transmission is $26,295. MSRP for Outback Limited Wagon with the standard 5-speed manual transmission is $26,595.
Outback H6-3.0
All 2003 Outback H6-3.0 models feature the OnStar Communications System, including a one-year OnStar Safe and Sound service package as standard equipment. The Safe and Sound service package includes air bag deployment notification to emergency service providers, remote door unlock feature, stolen vehicle locator service, emergency assistance help and more. Also new for 2003, Outback H6-3.0 sedan and wagon models are available in a Titanium Pearl monotone exterior treatment and Outback H6-3.0 VDC sedan and wagons models receive an in-dash 6-disc changer to complement the standard McIntosh premium audio system.
The MSRP for the 2003 model year Outback H6-3.0 Sedan is $28,495 and $30,895 for Outback H6-3.0 VDC Sedan. Outback H6-3.0 L.L.Bean Edition is $29,995 and $32,395 for Outback H6-3.0 VDC Wagon.
Impreza
Changes to the 2003 model year Impreza line include standard cruise control 2.5 TS wagon models, and standard keyless entry on 2.5 RS and Outback Sport models. MSRP of these models increases by just $100.
WRX Sedan and Sport Wagon
Subaru adds Sonic Yellow to the color palette for 2003, available only during the first three months of production. The Sonic Yellow WRX comes equipped with a standard rear spoiler. WRX receives a price increase of $200 for 2003.
All 2003 model year Legacy, Outback and Impreza models meet all federal passenger car safety standards, comply with Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) standards and are certified for sale in all 50 states. All 2003 Subaru models feature the peace of mind of standard 24-hour roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
