General Motors Hispanic Initiative Team Gives Back To Community At Pontiac Mexican Festival

Detroit, MI - General Motors will participate in the 27th annual Pontiac Mexican Festival taking place on Friday, Aug. 23, Saturday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Phoenix Plaza in downtown Pontiac. GM will have a presence at the festival on all three days that will include a booth with product information and entertainment for the entire family.

Volunteers from the company's Hispanic employee affinity group, GM Hispanic Initiative Team (GM HIT), will staff the GM booth. According to Ruben De Los Rios, GM HIT coordinator for the event and Buyer for GM Worldwide Purchasing, "The GM area will feature the Chevy TrailBlazer and the GM Safety Van with a certified safety specialist giving safety demonstrations. In addition to product information, there will be games, prizes and clowns to entertain the entire family." Mr. De Los Rios went on to say, "As a Hispanic employee at GM, I've enjoyed the opportunity to give back to the Hispanic community through my involvement with GM HIT and their support of events such as the Pontiac Mexican Festival."

In addition to the booth and vehicle display, GM HIT President Diane De Hoyos will give the keynote speech on Saturday, Aug. 24 prior to the flag raising ceremony at 3 p.m.
