Subaru Announces 2003 Baja Pricing

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Aug. 19 -- Subaru of America, Inc. announced today Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Pricing (MSRP) for the 2003 Baja. The all-wheel drive Baja with the standard five-speed manual transmission is $23,995, $24,795 with the optional four-speed electronic automatic transmission.*

Introduced earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show, Baja creates a new category of vehicle, combining the cargo versatility of a compact four-door pickup truck with the driving dynamics, safety and comfort of a passenger car. Baja features the Subaru-designed Switchback(TM) system, which provides the ability to reconfigure the rear seating area, as well as the cargo bed, to meet a variety of needs when transporting people and cargo. Other standard features include a power moonroof, perforated gray leather-trimmed seats, 16-inch alloy wheels and an integrated cargo bed liner.

Power is supplied by a 2.5-liter, horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine providing 165 horsepower and 166 lb-ft. of torque, mated to either the standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed electronic automatic transmission (4EAT). Standard on every Subaru, Baja features the traction and control of the Subaru All-Wheel Driving System.

Baja will be available in Subaru showrooms beginning September 1. For additional information, visit the Baja web site at www.SubaruBaja.com. All 2003 Subaru models feature the peace of mind of standard 24-hour roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
