Oshkosh Truck Subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing, Delivers Specially Designed Pumper for Camp David

    OSHKOSH, Wis.--Aug. 23, 2002--Pierce Manufacturing Inc., a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corporation and North America's leading fire apparatus manufacturer, will deliver a custom-designed pumper to the U.S. Navy for use at the Presidential Retreat at Camp David, the official get-away for American presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to George W. Bush. The U.S. Navy Fire and Emergency Services are responsible for fire protection at the retreat.

    The Pierce(R) pumper features the new International 4200 low-profile chassis. It has a tight turning radius and carries 400 gallons of water to provide versatile response capabilities ranging from quick attack to structural fire protection. In addition, the truck was outfitted with special graphics that pay tribute to fire and emergency services personnel who responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11.
