GM Parade Of Progress 50th Anniversary Reunion And Luncheon

Event Planned For Sept. 4 In Zeeland, Mich., To Include Original Crew Members

Members of the original crew of the "General Motors Parade of Progress," a four-year, cross-country caravan of technology that entertained and educated more than 6 million Americans and Canadians in the early 1950s, will gather to mark the 50th anniversary of the parade's launch. The caravan of custom-built "Futurliners," which contained 26 exhibits and shows on the marvels of science and engineering, visited more than 100 cities.

Participants in the reunion will include about 30 of the parade's original crew, their spouses, and members of a group restoring one of the 12 original Futurliners for the National Automotive and Truck Museum in Auburn, Ind.
