GM Stays In "Overdrive" With New Marketing Program

Featuring 0.0% on all 2003 models

DETROIT - General Motors Corp. today announced the newest version of its retail marketing programs utilizing the "Overdrive" theme. Effective today, GM will offer APR financing rates of 0.0/2.9/3.9% (36/48/60 months) or customer cash of $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 for qualified buyers on the purchase of all new 2003 model Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac cars and trucks through October 31. Saturn, Saab, and HUMMER are excluded from this program.

"Our new 'Overdrive' marketing program continues to draw upon the strengths we believe are essential to be successful in an intensely competitive market," said Bill Lovejoy, group vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "The marketing message reflects our leadership in a program that is simple, compelling and easily communicated to our dealers and consumers.

"We feel confident that our messages are reaching consumers as evidenced by the greater number of people who are familiar with the offer and our products when visiting dealer showrooms."

As with recent marketing programs, GM will use prominent national, regional and local marketing campaigns to leverage all of its vehicle divisions and GM dealers in the marketplace.

The National TV and print advertising for the new program begins today. National Newspaper ads will run in the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal today and September 6. Newspaper ads in top 50 markets will run September 5th and 8th. The theme of the ads will focus on GM's leadership in the marketplace and its all-new 2003 GM model year vehicles. Divisional, regional, and local dealer marketing group ads will follow.
