New Zealanders To Get Personal Counciling To Leave Their Car at Home

News One reported that Transfund New Zealand has committed thousands of dollars to a programme where Auckland motorists are being encouraged to leave their cars at home.

The Auckland Regional Council and the North Shore City Council are running the personalised marketing trial which is costing over $100,000.

It will see residents in Birkenhead and Beach Haven get one-on-one counselling to change their method of transport.

The Chief Executive of Transfund New Zealand, Martin Gummer, says it is contributing nearly $70,000 towards the project.

Gummer says it is a small cost to achieve less congested roads.
