UnitedAuto Announces 2002 Scholarship Program Winners

    DETROIT--Sept. 13, 2002--UnitedAuto Group, Inc. , a FORTUNE 500 automotive specialty retailer, announced today the five regional winners for its 2002 Scholarship Program.
    UnitedAuto's scholarship effort is designed to recognize children of UnitedAuto employees who are outstanding high school seniors as demonstrated by their academic achievement and community service activities.
    The five finalists who will receive a $2,000 academic scholarship award are Matthew Gilarmo (Boca Raton, Florida), Amber Mack (Indianapolis, Indiana), Tamsyn Phillips (Gilbert, Arizona), Daniel Todd (Howell, New Jersey), and Jonathan Wang (Sugar Land, Texas).
    According to Paul Walters, Executive Vice President of Human Resources, "We are pleased to support the academic goals of these outstanding students through UnitedAuto's Scholarship Program, and we wish each winner the best of luck in the years to come."
