Chevrolet Presents Hot Music, Cool Cars And The Latest Trucks At The State Fair Of Texas

Chevy Driving Texas-Official Vehicle Of The Fair

DALLAS - Whether you enjoy sliding into a sleek Corvette, hearing great tunes from today's hottest stars or seeing the latest in automotive innovations-Chevrolet delivers something for all ages and interests at the 2002 State Fair of Texas, September 27 through October 20.

As Big Tex celebrates 50 years reigning over the State Fair, Chevrolet marks five colorful decades of the Chevrolet Corvette, a precise blend of power, performance, style and comfort. The 50th Anniversary Edition of the Corvette, available only during the 2003 model year, is a tribute to a half-century of automotive leadership and will be featured among Chevrolet's fair displays.

Chevrolet joins the State Fair in presenting the Big Texas Music Festival as the red-hot Dixie Chicks come to Dallas to top an all-Texas-music lineup on October 19, for this first-ever Big Tex festival in the Cotton Bowl. The two-day event will spotlight the Dixie Chicks with special guest Pat Green on Saturday and Los Tigres del Norte and a blockbuster slate of Latino talent on October 20, the final day of the 2002 State Fair.

Chevrolet is also the title sponsor of the Chevrolet Main Stage, bringing superstars to the Fair every weekend plus live bands throughout the week. This year's headliners include Lee Greenwood, Alan Jackson, America, Hank Williams Jr., and Blues Traveler. Admission to the concerts is included in the price of State Fair admission.

The majority of Chevrolet's onsite activities will be presented through display areas in and around the State Fair of Texas Auto Show. Signage and vehicles will mark the sites. The "Official Vehicle of the State Fair of Texas," Chevrolet offers fair-goers the opportunity to become "Texan of the Year" at the Chevrolet display at the entrance of Cotton Bowl plaza, digitally placing visitors on the cover of Texas Monthly and giving them a picture to remember their Fair visit.

The State Fair of Texas is home to the biggest new car show in the Southwest, which fills two huge exhibit halls: the Automobile Building and Centennial Hall. Of the more than 3 million visitors expected to attend this year's Fair, 80 percent will take the opportunity to tour the Auto Show, making it one of the largest auto shows in the nation. Chevrolet vehicles will be featured in the Auto Show, as will each of the General Motors nameplates-Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac and GMC. The Auto Show displays offer a first look at the latest vehicle models, plus concept cars, pick-ups and sport utility vehicles.

Chevrolet also serves as the Official Vehicle of the Red River Shoot Out, the annual football contest featuring the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma.

The Texas State Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. For public and ticket information for the 2002 Texas State Fair, please visit www.bigtex.com or call 214-565-9931. For more details about Chevrolet, visit www.chevrolet.com.
