Extraordinary Response Has Filled BMW S.C. Job Applicant Pool

SPARTANBURG, S.C., Sept. 30, 2002 -- BMW Manufacturing Corp. has experienced an overwhelming response to its September 26 announcement that it would hire an additional 400 associates, and the company now has a ready supply of qualified applicants.

About 2,000 applicants are in the jobs candidate pool for production associates. BMW Manufacturing will announce when it will again begin accepting applications for production associate jobs.

A pool of qualified applicants always has been maintained by BMW Manufacturing. If an applicant has been notified previously that he or she is a qualified applicant and in the pool, that status has not changed.
