Schefenacker Exhibits Aftermarket Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirror at SEMA

MARYSVILLE, Mich., Oct. 31 -- A new Telescopic Trailer Tow
Mirror that can slide outward for improved rear vision while towing will be
exhibited by Schefenacker, the world's largest exterior mirror manufacturer,
at the 2002 SEMA Show, Booth #10416 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las
Vegas, November 5 - 8. Custom Towing Mirrors, one of Schefenacker's master
distributors, also will be exhibiting the Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirrors at
SEMA Booth #32322.
The Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirror is manufactured by Schefenacker Vision
Systems Australia Pty Ltd, and fits the most popular Ford, GMC, Chevrolet and
Dodge Ram trucks.
The mirrors are designed for a clean, aerodynamic, factory-fitted
appearance. They replace a truck's original exterior mirrors and slide easily
with up to 4-1/2 inches of outward adjustment. This allows most drivers to
see past loads up to 102 inches wide. Graduation markings on the arm covers
help remind the driver how much telescoping is needed to see past the load.
Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirrors are built for toughness and tested to the truck
maker's specifications.
They can be supplied with custom chrome covers and are supplied with
standard black covers that the customer or dealer can paint to match the
vehicle. Theme covers also complement the range of interchangeable covers.
The two mirror elements are a large, flat main glass and a separate, wide-
view adjustable spotter mirror. The main glass element allows the driver to
see past the widest legal loads on lanes 11 feet wide. The spotter mirror
covers a 48-degree field of view. The large main glass is electrically
adjustable on vehicles originally supplied with electric mirrors. Some mirror
models have a heat option. You can also upgrade your vehicle to have the
mirror heat option. LED turn signal lights on certain models increase
awareness for other vehicles of the driver's intention to turn or change
lanes. LED clearance lights are also available on some models.
Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirrors are available for the 1999 to current
Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra; 2000 to current Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe,
and GMC Yukon; 2002 to current Chevrolet Avalanche and Dodge Ram; 1994 to
current Ford F150; and 1998 - 2000 Ford F250 Light Duty trucks.
Schefenacker provides a three-year limited warranty and free technical
support. Some customers may be able to install the mirrors on certain
vehicles, but Schefenacker recommends professional installation. Further
