AAA Chicago Announces Free Party Guide

AURORA, Ill., Nov. 26, 2002 -- Nothing says "holidays" more than celebrations with friends and family. However, those parties often involve the over-consumption of alcoholic beverages - a potential disaster for hosts and guests alike.

To help holiday-party hosts control guests' consumption of alcoholic beverages, AAA Chicago and the Auto Club Group of AAA clubs has published The Great Pretenders Party Guide. The guide features dozens of nonalcoholic drink recipes and appetizer recipes, submitted by the chefs and bartenders of select AAA Diamond-award winning properties in the Midwest. The mission of The Great Pretenders Party Guide: to encourage safe driving throughout the holiday season and year-round through a unique new promotion.

"Our party guide is one way AAA combats the consequences of drinking and driving - by offering interesting new alcohol-free recipe ideas from high-end properties for hosts to offer their guests," said Steve Nolan, manager of corporate communications for AAA Chicago. AAA has been at the forefront of the nationwide effort to make motor- vehicle travel safer for 100 years; each holiday season AAA puts an emphasis on alerting people to the dangers of drunk driving. This year, that emphasis includes producing The Great Pretenders Party Guide. In addition to recipes, the guide includes educational information about drunk driving and tips on how party hosts can control alcohol consumption by their guests. The Great Pretenders Party Guide has festive, tasty recipes with enticing names like Sham-pagne Fizz Cocktail, Holiday Sunset, Berrylicious and St. Paul Hotel Hot Cocoa.
