North American International Auto Show Charity Preview Expecting Sell Out

DETROIT, Dec. 16, 2002; Considered to be among the largest single-night charity events in the world, the North American International Auto Show's (NAIAS) Charity Preview is once again on pace to sell out and anticipated to match the $6.125 million raised at last year's annual black-tie gala. First held in 1976, the NAIAS Charity Preview has helped generate more than $38 million for local Detroit children's charity services, with more than $20 million of that money raised in the past four years alone.

"Certainly, there is plenty of glitz and glamour associated with Charity Preview," said NAIAS 2003 Senior Co-Chairman Bill Demmer. "But, the essence behind all of this glitz and glamour is one thing -- making a difference in the lives of children and young people throughout our community."

The 2003 Charity Preview will take place Friday, January 10, at Cobo Center in Detroit from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information on the NAIAS 2003 Charity Preview, or to be added to the event ticket wait list, call (888) 838-7500.

Beneficiaries of the 2003 Charity Preview include: Barat Child and Family Services; Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan; Boys Hope-Girls Hope of Detroit; The Children's Center; Children's Homes of Judson Center; Children's Services of Northeast Guidance Center Assistance League; The Detroit Institute for Children; Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL); Easter Seal Society of Southeastern Michigan, Inc.; March of Dimes; and the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund.
