PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 9, 2003; Automobile enthusiasts using SEPTA to the 2003 Philadelphia International Auto Show scheduled for the Pennsylvania Convention Center from January 11-19 will discover quick and convenient service on SEPTA's modern fleets of buses, trolleys and trains, a special SEPTA Turbo Pass offering unlimited one-day travel on all SEPTA services, and discounted Auto Show tickets.

Twelve SEPTA bus routes, the Center City PHLASH, the Broad Street and Market-Frankford subway/elevated lines and subway/surface trolley routes are only a short walk away from the Convention Center.

On weekdays all SEPTA regional rail routes operate directly to the Market East Station and the Convention Center. On the weekend as SEPTA continues work on the Rail Power Project to replace the overhead electrical system between 30th Street Station and Suburban Station, regional rail Routes R2 Warminster, R3 West Trenton, R5 Lansdale-Doylestown, R6 Norristown, R7 Chestnut Hill East and R8 Fox Chase trains will continue to operate directly to Market East Station and the Convention Center.

Trains on the R2 Marcus Hook-Wilmington, R3 Media-Elwyn, R5 Paoli- Thorndale, R7 Trenton and R8 Chestnut Hill West lines, however, will operate only as far as 30th Street Station. Riders traveling to the Auto Show should use eastbound Market-Frankford Line trains from 30th & Market Streets (across the street from the regional rail station) to the 11th Street Market-Frankford line station which is adjacent to Market East Station and the Convention Center. Extra bus service will be provided for riders attending the Auto Show using Rail Power Project shuttle buses from the 30th Street regional rail station to Market East Station. In addition, shuttle buses replacing train service on the R1 Airport line also serve Market East Station.

On sale now, the special $8.00 "Turbo Pass" offers SEPTA riders unlimited one-day travel on all SEPTA routes from January 11-19. Turbo Passes can be used on weekdays as well as Saturday and Sunday. Turbo Passes are valid on SEPTA regional rail trains arriving in Center City Philadelphia only after 9:30 a.m.

In addition, discounted weekday Auto Show tickets can also be purchased at SEPTA sales offices. Discounted ticket prices are $8.00 for adult admission and $6.00 for child/senior citizen admissions -- a discount of $2.00 compared to same day, box office prices.
