Beginning Saturday, March 15 at 6 pm, Honolulu car enthusiasts and motorists of all ages will be treated to a weekly half-hour of automotive entertainment and information as Ohana Road makes its debut on KITV CH 6, ABC-TV. . Hosted by local radio personality Dale Payson along with” Blue Hawaii” at the Waikiki Beachcomber performer Jenn Boneza this novel program covers a variety of unique facets of the world of cars.

Like a car magazine, Ohana Road has several departments. At the top of the program Dale and Jenn will profile a variety of new 2003 car models, inside and out and going down the road. On program number one the TV viewer will learn all about the Ford line, including the powerful new Thunderbird. Week two - Dodge, three -Chevy, etc. Segment two, hosted by Barry Meguiar is titled “Car Crazy” and consists of interviews with well-known gearheads. Car collector, comic Jay Leno, is on show number one. Other notable car enthusiasts appearing are; General Motors President, Bob Lutz; ZZ Top rock star, Billy Gibbons, ; automotive legend, Carroll Shelby; Indy 500 winner, Parnelli Jones; famed racers, Dan Gurney, Don Garlits and others.

Realizing that the highlight of any auto show are the concept cars, Dale and Jenn go back to the future for a look at tomorrow’s dream cars from Ford, G M and Chrysler plus a look at concept cars of the past.

“Hawaii’s Cars N Stars” feature of Ohana Road spotlights local racing champions, car collectors and entertainment personalities, such as THE star of Blue Hawaii at the Waikiki Beachcomber, Jonathan Von Brana better known as Elvis. Jonathan will show his ex-Dean martin Stutz Blackhawk classic car. On show number 2 viewers will see the fastest race car in Hawaii in tire screeching action

The weekly show culminates with a bit of frivolity with “A Bunch of Maloney” wherein show producer Bill Maloney, comments on things automotive that are bugging him. Car commercials, too much horsepower, horns, traffic noise,ETC. The show wraps up with a brief driving tip from the Automobile Club of Hawaii delivered by racer and safety advocate, Vince Generalao.

Executive Producer/writer Maloney says of the concept, “Ohana Road is not just aimed at the car enthusiast, or collector or racer..it’s a show for the motorist..people of all ages who drive cars.” Video production is being handled by producer Dave Goebert and director/editor Tracey Jeremiah of LeSea TV Productions, Honolulu. Cutter Family Motors is the title sponsor of Ohana Road.
