Unique Sales Initiative From Audi

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 17 -- Audi dealers can truly claim their Certified pre-owned vehicles are as good as new, thanks to a new sales initiative announced today by Audi of America, Inc.

Through April 30, 2003, Audi dealers are selling all remaining new, untitled 2002 cars and dealer loaners as Certified pre-owned (CPO) Executive cars. This unique program provides buyers the best of both worlds -- a previously untitled vehicle with the extended warranty plus low-interest financing advantages of a Certified pre-owned model.

Audi CPO Executive cars are backed with a limited factory warranty of six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is complemented by no- charge scheduled maintenance for the first four years or 50,000 miles, 24-hour Audi Roadside Assistance for six years or 100,000 miles and a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion perforation -- all from the original in-service date.

Amplifying the initiative, Audi also has extended special finance terms to qualifying CPO Executive cars. Buyers can take advantage of Audi Financial Services' new-vehicle purchase interest rates as low as 1.9 APR financing, or special Premier Purchase or CPO lease terms.

"The CPO Executive car initiative is a win-win position for everyone," said Len Hunt, president of Audi of America. "First and foremost, our customers win because they can purchase a like-new Audi, in many cases with zero miles on it, at a substantial savings over a comparable 2003 model.

"Our dealers win with CPO Executive cars because it helps move a portion of their inventory to the most ambitious segment of the business right now. Sales of Audi Certified pre-owned cars are up approximately 30 percent over last year, while sales of new luxury cars for the entire industry are growing at a rate of roughly two to four percent."

By moving the existing 2002 models to the "used" segment, the initiative also helps dealers with their advertising, eliminating the potential for confusion over what is a "new" car. "We are making it clear to our customers that 'new' means 2003 models," Hunt concluded.

In 2002, Audi of America, Inc. recorded 17,850 sales of models in the Audi Assured program -- the predecessor to Audi CPO -- representing a 60-percent increase over 2001 pre-owned model sales.
