Detroit Press Club Foundation to Honor 32 Winners Of '2003 International Wheel Award' Writing Competition

Automotive Hall of Fame is Venue for April 10 Event

DETROIT, March 24 -- The Detroit Press Club Foundation, in cooperation with the Individual Communicators Network and the Automotive Hall of Fame, will announce and honor winners at its 2003 International Wheel Awards Program on April 10, 2003.

"From 78 entries, judges selected 24 first, second and third place winners and eight honorable mentions," said Steve Purdy, event chairman. "From those, one entrant will receive the best-of-the-best award, the coveted Golden Wheel trophy." Judging was lead by Will Norton, dean of the School of Journalism, University of Nebraska.

The awards program, to be held for the first time at the AHOF, begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $25 per person, competition entrants at no charge. RSVP to 248-652-1987 by April 4.

The Automotive Hall of Fame is the only industry-wide means to honor the men and women of the global motor vehicle and related industries. It is dedicated to preserving the history of mobility by celebrating the creativity, toil and genius of the individual.
