Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance Celebrates 25 Years with 25 Duesenbergs

ROCHESTER, Mich., April 3 -- The Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance (Concours) will celebrate its 25th anniversary Sunday, August 3 with more than 250 rare, world-class vehicles. A special feature of the event will be a display of 25 Duesenbergs, commemorating each year of the Concours.

"Our 25th anniversary celebration will bring together the rare and the beautiful," said Richard Kughn, Chairman of Concours d'Elegance of America, the non-profit entity that manages and hosts the event. "It is a celebration of America's finest automobiles. We will feature exquisite cars, elegant fashions and unforgettable automotive art during a weeklong celebration of the automobile."

The Concours will be held on the grounds of the historic Meadow Brook Hall, the former home of Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto baron John Dodge. The Hall is located at Oakland University and is the primary recipient of the event proceeds. "There is a tremendous 25-year tradition of supporting Meadow Brook Hall through this event," said Kughn. "We intend to take that to the next level."

  *  Art Reception & RM Auto Auction Preview - Friday, August 1
  *  RM Classic Cars Vintage Auto Auction - Saturday, August 2
  *  Art Auction and Strolling Reception - Saturday, August 2
  *  Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance - Sunday, August 3

"We will continue to develop the Concours as one of the premier classic car shows in the world while broadening its appeal to collector car enthusiasts and sponsors," said Kughn. "There is an extremely dedicated team of volunteers committed to this endeavor."

The board of the Concours d'Elegance of America is comprised of business leaders who have a passion for car collecting and a long-time association with the Concours. In addition to Kughn, the board includes William Parfet, Chairman/CEO of MPI Research and Treasurer of the Concours board; Terence Adderley, Chairman/CEO of Kelly Services of Troy and Vice-Chairman of the Concours board; Keith Crain, Chairman of Crain Communications and Vice Chairman of the Concours board; Don Sommer, President of American Arrow Corp. of Clawson, and David Fischer, Sr., Chairman/CEO of The Suburban Collection of Troy, an Oakland University Trustee and Secretary of the Concours board. Fischer serves as Oakland's University's representative on the board.
