Volo Auto Museum Prevails Against Corporate Giant Ford/Volvo In Domain Name Dispute

VOLO, Ill., June 19 -- American family pride in the 40 or more years of owning and managing Volo Auto Museum persuaded an independent panel that Volo can retain their volocars.com domain name.

Reminiscent of the biblical saga between David and Goliath, on June 18, 2003, the World Intellectual Property Organization panel ruled that its arguments advanced by Volvo (Ford) to disenfranchise Volo of its 1997 registered domain name were unavailing because Volo maintains an undisputed worldwide reputation in the classic, antique and muscle car museum industry.

The Volo owners, Greg and Bill Grams, and their families, wish to thank the thousands of individuals from all over the world for their e-mail and faxed letters supporting their right to retain the volocars.com domain name. Volo also wishes to thank its attorney, Allan A. Ackerman, of Chicago, Illinois, for his all-consuming devotion in this very lengthy and difficult legal battle against Volvo and Ford.
