Area Resident Will Win at Event on Sunday, June 29 in Santa Barbara
Where would you go if you had $10,000 in free gas? On Sunday, June 29, one lucky Californian will be happily answering that very question. Ten finalists, from a sweepstakes sponsored by Shell and its local area Shell- brand dealers, will gather at an Encinitas Shell station for the chance to win $10,000 IN SHELL GASOLINE. Each finalist will draw a Shell prepaid gas card, and only one will activate the gas pump signaling the card is worth $10,000.

The sweepstakes is being held to celebrate the conversion of 39 San Diego- area Texaco stations to the Shell brand. Shell will convert thousands of its 13,000 Texaco-branded service stations across the U.S. to the Shell brand, as part of the largest re-branding initiative in American business history. The nationwide conversion process, which is expected to be complete by June 2004, began in San Diego in October, 2002.
The ten "Shell $10,000 Gasoline Giveaway" finalists are from San Diego, Escondido and LeMesa.
