Italian Electric Car Now Available at ZAP

SANTA ROSA, Calif., July 21 -- During an interview with MoneyTV, Steve Schneider, Chief Executive Officer of ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) , announced that the Company has placed an order for 50 of its new ZAP L.U.V.(TM) neighborhood electric cars from its manufacturing partner in Europe.

ZAP is now taking orders for the new car and is recruiting dealers to distribute them nationwide. The ZAP L.U.V. (Light Utility Vehicle) is a new kind of automobile called a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV). The U.S. Department of Transportation created the new category of automobile for the many car trips people take for inner-city transportation, planned communities, commercial zones, and tourist districts.

The ZAP L.U.V. sports a European design from Italy's StudioLinea2, which designs some of Italy's most famous sports cars. The electric car has room for two and plugs into any normal household electrical outlet. It utilizes several innovations in electronic propulsion design and engineering. The instrumentation for example can be accessed via a control pad on the steering wheel. To see the ZAP L.U.V., visit http://www.zapworld.com/zapcars.htm .

In December 2002, ZAP announced that its subsidiary Voltage Vehicles signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Riccardo P. Coles, President and C.E.O. of World Alternative Transport Technologies, Corp. (W.A.T.T.), an American-European based group of companies involved in the design and manufacturing of electric automobiles. The 50-unit order is expected to take 60 days to deliver via sea freight, expected to arrive in the United States in September. ZAP says that a majority of the units have been sold, but is now taking orders from consumers and seeking dealers to help distribute the cars nationwide.

"We feel the timing for electric cars is now," said Coles. "There has never been more of a need throughout the world for clean transportation technologies. According to air quality studies, pure electrics are much more efficient and produce much less pollution than other technologies, including the new hybrids. We looked throughout the world for the best way to launch our new cars and decided that the USA is the right place and ZAP is the right company. We believe that ZAP has a recognizable brand in this industry and the right distribution strategy."
