Tricked Out Mercedes Racer Roars Into House Of Imports
Buena Park Dealership To Host The Hottest Thing On Four Wheels
Los Angelinos with the need for speed will soon have a new place to find it: House of Imports, Buena Park's premier Mercedes-Benz dealership. That's because from September 28 to October 4, House of Imports will be home to a DTM CLK racing car, a hyper-fast version of the familiar Mercedes-Benz CLK.
A DTM vehicle is a modified version of its road-going cousin, pulling 470 horsepower from a V8 engine on a chassis that has been dramatically stripped down and lightened. They all feature rear wheel drive, run on 18-inch racing slicks and have no driver aids like ABS or traction control. This balance between simplicity and power is important for a car to succeed in the demanding word of DTM -- or Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters -- racing. And it illustrates Mercedes-Benz' commitment to building the most exciting performance vehicles on the road today.
"We're going to love having a DTM CLK in our showroom," said Larry Lewis, House of Imports general manager. "You don't have to look hard at the cars that we normally sell to see that there's a lot of power behind a sophisticated exterior. But you can't really get the true sense of just how performance-driven these machines are until you see what happens when you turn one into a DTM racer."
