Detroit Area Charities Salute 15 Years of Support From The North American International Auto Show

    Charity representatives and Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to honor NAIAS,
          announce kickoff of 2004 Charity Preview ticket sales

Who: Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and representatives of the benefiting local charities salute the NAIAS for continued support through its annual Charity Preview. The following charities have benefited from the NAIAS Charity Preview: Barat Child & Family Services, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, Boys Hope/Girls Hope of Detroit, The Children's Center, Children's Homes of Judson Center, Children's Services of Northeast Guidance Center Assistance League, Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, Detroit Institute for Children, Detroit Police Athletic League, Easter Seal Society of Southeastern Michigan and March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.

What: The event kicks off the 2004 ticket sales for the world's largest, single-night fundraiser for children's charities. The annual NAIAS Charity Preview, a historically sold-out event, is always the hottest ticket in town. Children representing the charities will present the first 2004 Charity Preview ticket to Mayor Kilpatrick, as one of the event's honorary co-chairs. The Detroit Auto Dealers Charitable Foundation Fund will also announce its 2003 grant recipients.

  Where:  Cobo Center - Promenade Room, Concourse Level
          One Washington Blvd., downtown Detroit

Why: Local charities to thank the NAIAS Charity Previews for their remarkable contributions, which have totaled more than $44 million since the auto show became international in 1989. In addition, representatives from the charities will be on hand to highlight the importance of the Charity Preview and how it has enriched the local community.
