LA Consul General of Sweden Hosts Sneak Preview of Hot New Volvo Car

LOS ANGELES--Dec. 1, 20032, 2003--Guests may think Santa has arrived early next week when the Swedish Consulate General and Volvo Cars of North America welcome the press and invited guests to a Christmas cocktail buffet on December 17 at the Swedish residence in Santa Monica. The festive evening will combine traditional Swedish Christmas cuisine, wine glogg and a Lucia procession with a sneak peak at Volvo's newest sedan, the all-new S40. The car will be displayed on site at the event. The all-new S40 will officially debut in North America in January. Locally, the car will be shown during the public days at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show.

"Volvo is one of Sweden's best known trademarks and Volvo technology is a great example of Swedish design and innovation. The all-new S40 is very 'now' and I think we can expect to see a lot of them on the freeways in Southern California in coming months," said Swedish Consul General Tomas Rosander.

"Volvo has a global reputation for leading-edge safety technology, and our products have been further enhanced with sophisticated state-of-the-art information technology, along with exhilarating style and performance. The all-new Volvo S40's exciting design and exceptional road performance will appeal especially to young buyers and is anticipated to be a significant competitor in this growing market segment," said Roger Ormisher, Vice President, Public Affairs, Volvo Cars of North America. Along with standard amenities like air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a host of options available in larger Volvo models are available to buyers of the all-new S40.
