PennDOT Driver Licensing Scam; Philadelphia License Examiner Charged

Attorney General Jerry Pappert will hold an 11 a.m. news conference today at the Attorney General's Philadelphia Office, 7801 Essington Ave., Philadelphia.

The purpose of the news conference is to announce that agents of the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have charged two suspects who allegedly participated in a large-scale illegal Pennsylvania driver's license scam.

Pappert said one of the suspects being charged is a former PennDOT driver's licensing examiner who allegedly provided fraudulent driver's licenses to nearly 200 individuals in exchange for cash payments and gifts.
