NEW YORK & CAMPBELL, Calif.--April 5, 2004--PRIMEDIA Inc. , the leading targeted media company, today announced the launch of the IntelliChoice Buyer's Guide, a quarterly magazine for consumers featuring the nation's most trusted automotive cost and value data. The Buyer's Guide extends IntelliChoice's leadership as the most authoritative provider of independent automobile pricing, specifications, ownership cost and leasing data and will not contain paid advertising among its pages of award-winning and unique auto information.

Arriving on newsstands April 6, the new Buyer's Guide will deliver the same quality of information readers have become accustomed to finding on www.intellichoice.com. In addition to the statistics and cost analysis covered throughout, the Buyer's Guide features editorial content that is exclusive to the print publication and offers "how-to" advice for consumers on a broad range of topics. Articles in the Spring issue include:

* Showroom Strategies - How to win at the dealers' games

* Shopping for a Lease - Understanding how to get a fair deal on your terms

* How to Read a Lease Ad - The fine print explained

* Trade-in, Sell, or Auction? - How to get the most for your old car

"IntelliChoice's first magazine launches in a marketplace where there is a growing need for independent automotive information," said David Wurster, publisher, IntelliChoice. "IntelliChoice is the only resource offering trusted complete value ratings that include the vehicle's price, in addition to the factors affecting the cost of ownership over its lifespan such as depreciation, maintenance, repairs, fuel, fees, financing and insurance. Our Buyer's Guide adds another dimension to the information found on the IntelliChoice Web site by offering consumers a tangible product with pages of charts, photographs and articles to read."

The Spring 2004 issue is a 178-page glossy magazine featuring 245 models and more than 700 trim lines with full color photographs. It highlights the recent winners of the IntelliChoice Best Overall Value of the Year (BOVY) awards, the company's highest annual honors announced in February. The Buyer's Guide does not include paid advertising and will be available quarterly on newsstands only for $7.95 U.S./$9.95 Canadian.

"As IntelliChoice strives to provide consumers with the tools they need to find the greatest value for their money, the Best Overall Value of the Year feature is especially worth taking a closer look," added Wurster. "Readers will be directed to the publication's Web site for even more data and content to supplement all of the coverage found in the print copy with the end goal of helping them complete their research and make the most informed purchasing decision possible."

The inaugural issue previews tomorrow's hottest picks, showcasing the 2005 automobile models that are certain to make headlines. Future issues will include analysis of pre-owned vehicles and information to help buyers make informed decisions in the ever-changing automotive marketplace.

IntelliChoice is part of the esteemed PRIMEDIA group of automotive titles and trusted brands including Motor Trend, Automobile, Ward's Dealer Business, Ward's AutoWorld and more than 50 automotive enthusiast properties including Hot Rod, Lowrider, Import Tuner and Sport Compact Car.
